RODGERS WANTS REDS’ ANDRE WISDOM

Former Liverpool coach seems not to be over the club as he is set to raid Anfield for Andre Wisdom, reports say. Coach Brendan Rodgers wants to make another addition to Celtic side before the end of the summer transfer window.

Rodgers granted Wisdom his first debut immediately he took over back in 2012. In his debut campaign, Wisdom made 19 appearances, but his fortunes has quickly changed since then. He has been at Derby County, West Brom, and Norwich City so far. Rodgers wants to come to his rescue before the transfer deadline closes on Wednesday.

Rodgers signed Kolo Toure back in July after he was released by coach Jurgen Klopp who felt he was excess to his requirements for the season. Liverpool Echo reports that Rodgers is keen on making Wisdom the second person he’s poached from Anfield by Wednesday. The report hints that Klopp would be willing to let the player go outrightly for the right price as he is not believed to be in his plans this season.

CELTIC DEFENDER SIMUNOVIC LINKED WITH ANOTHER CLUB

Scottish champions Celtic FC are about to lose their defender Jozo Simunovic as the player has been linked heavily with a move to Italian side Torino.

Simunovic joined from Russian side Dinamo Zagreb but suffered a injury plagued debut season since joining the Hoops. The player is reported to be interested in the move to move to the Seria A. He is still sidelined with a knee injury but the Italian side want the Croatia international, according to Italian journalist Gainluca di Marzio.

The 22-year old player hasn’t featured for the club since January. Torino want the defender to replace Nikola Maksimovic who is on his way to Napoli for £20million. The deal has been on hold as English Premier League side Chelsea are hoping to seal a move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. Simunovic played just 18 games in his premier season in Glasgow but hasn’t featured since January.

Former Liverpool boss who now heads Celtic, Brendan Rodgers brought Kolo Toure from Liverpool to take charge of the defence alongside full-back Mikael Lustig who has been in action with youngster Eoghan O’Connell. Injured players Erik Sviatchencko and Dedryck Boyata are set to make a return to action, paving wave for the deal for Simunovic.

Cardiff City experience records crowd for game against Derby

Record crowd turns out for the Cardiff game against Derby as the club reaps the benefits of their latest promotion to bring back their fans to the stadium. This crowd overtakes even the one that was present at Cardiff for the visit of Liverpool in the Premier Leauge in 2014. And the best news is that this is almost 13000 fans more than the last game against Ipswich.

Recently, Cardiff has been offering free tickets to fans that would sign up for a season ticket, and these promotion tactics has brought its reward with a staggering crowd present for the game. The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric and indeed with Cardiff pushing to get a place in the play-off, the fans are beginning to feel that this season could end in style.

This was different from the past home games where the atmosphere was dull and the fans really passive. This has prompted the club to conduct various community events as well as giving out free tickets to boost the attendance at the matches and also improve the atmosphere within the stadium. Celtic’s Ronny Deila is hoping that history repeats itself

The Scottish club Celtic FC forms part of an exclusive group of teams that have managed to collect the treble which is an incredibly difficult thing to accomplish and it’s why only a few clubs have sealed this accomplishment of winning 3 big pieces of silverware in the same season.

Ronny Deilawants to mark his name in the history-books of Celtic FC and the way that he is hoping to accomplish this task is by lifting the treble. One of Celtic’s latest results saw them playing against Stranraer and claiming a 3-0 triumph.

The last time that Celtic FC secured the treble, they had also defeated Stranrarer in that same season and Ronny Deila is hoping that history will repeat as the Norwegian manager wants to see his team making a memorable year which can indeed occur but only if they win all their upcoming competitions.

Celtic’s Ronny Deila spoke about his desire to ensure the treble as he told the media: “Yes, I actually am quite superstitious. I have my things that I do but I won’t tell you what they are!

“Someone told me before the game that the last time Celtic won a Treble they had a victory over Stranraer and so I hope it is a good sign for us. I hope so. We have our goals and they are high goals and we know how tough it is because so few teams have done it but that will not stop us from aiming for a Treble. We are still in it and we will fight for every game and then see where we are. For me, I just want to find a way to the final. Alan Pardew has marked his name in the history books of Crystal Palace

From being positioned in the bottom relegation zone to pushing them into the 10th spot of the Premier League, it has been a truly amazing season for Alan Pardew as he took control of Crystal Palace in January of the ongoing year and guided the team from the last spots to the middle section of the league.

Snatching the 10th spot in the Premier League is the highest spot that Crystal Palace has managed to seal in the history of the club and Pardew has made his mark in the club that was struggling so much a few months ago.

Alan Pardew admitted in saying that he was surprised in seeing how much the club has evolved and progressed in this season as the 53 year old manager said: “When I arrived here the club was in a difficult position, but there was no shortage of quality or character and my goodness we have proved that. Over the last 18 games our record has been phenomenal and none of the top teams’ record is better.

“It’s remarkable really to finish 10th, I’d never have dreamt that when I arrived. I wouldn’t have believed it if you had you told me at my first game in Dover this is where we would finish. My memories of that afternoon was the team bus being parked 300 yards away from the dressing rooms and we had to walk uphill to get there. I wasn’t used to that being manager of Newcastle!
