Scottish football outfit, Celtic, announced the biggest shirt deal in the history of Scotland when they announced the further strengthening of their existing partnership with leading company Dafabet, a leading global betting brand, as the company was named a new Main Club Sponsor.
Both parties agreed to a new four-year agreement where the company will be featured on the front of the club’s shirts from the beginning of season 2016/2017. Dafabet already has a great relationship with the Club, having entered into a five-year partnership last season by becoming Celtic’s International Betting Partner but according to the Head of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship at the company, they are advancing.
John Cruces said:
“A year ago I said that no matter where in the world you are, you see Celtic shirts such is their tremendous support and fan following. We’re talking about one of the most iconic and recognised shirts in football.
“Now to have Dafabet at the heart of Celtic sponsorship is a milestone event and a very proud moment for us. Having already formed a strong partnership with the club we can only go from strength to strength over the next four years.
The club’s Chief Executive Peter Lawwell commented on the deal. He said:
“We are delighted to make this announcement, which is fantastic news for the Club and our supporters and ensures a positive, long-term and high-value partnership for the future. Continue reading CELTIC GET BIGGEST EVER JERSEY DEAL IN SCOTTISH HISTORY
Record crowd turns out for the Cardiff game against Derby as the club reaps the benefits of their latest promotion to bring back their fans to the stadium. This crowd overtakes even the one that was present at Cardiff for the visit of Liverpool in the Premier Leauge in 2014. And the best news is that this is almost 13000 fans more than the last game against Ipswich.
Recently, Cardiff has been offering free tickets to fans that would sign up for a season ticket, and these promotion tactics has brought its reward with a staggering crowd present for the game. The atmosphere inside the stadium was electric and indeed with Cardiff pushing to get a place in the play-off, the fans are beginning to feel that this season could end in style.
This was different from the past home games where the atmosphere was dull and the fans really passive. This has prompted the club to conduct various community events as well as giving out free tickets to boost the attendance at the matches and also improve the atmosphere within the stadium. The Scottish club Celtic FC forms part of an exclusive group of teams that have managed to collect the treble which is an incredibly difficult thing to accomplish and it’s why only a few clubs have sealed this accomplishment of winning 3 big pieces of silverware in the same season.
Ronny Deilawants to mark his name in the history-books of Celtic FC and the way that he is hoping to accomplish this task is by lifting the treble. One of Celtic’s latest results saw them playing against Stranraer and claiming a 3-0 triumph.
The last time that Celtic FC secured the treble, they had also defeated Stranrarer in that same season and Ronny Deila is hoping that history will repeat as the Norwegian manager wants to see his team making a memorable year which can indeed occur but only if they win all their upcoming competitions.
Celtic’s Ronny Deila spoke about his desire to ensure the treble as he told the media: “Yes, I actually am quite superstitious. I have my things that I do but I won’t tell you what they are!
“Someone told me before the game that the last time Celtic won a Treble they had a victory over Stranraer and so I hope it is a good sign for us. I hope so. We have our goals and they are high goals and we know how tough it is because so few teams have done it but that will not stop us from aiming for a Treble. We are still in it and we will fight for every game and then see where we are. For me, I just want to find a way to the final. From being positioned in the bottom relegation zone to pushing them into the 10th spot of the Premier League, it has been a truly amazing season for Alan Pardew as he took control of Crystal Palace in January of the ongoing year and guided the team from the last spots to the middle section of the league.
Snatching the 10th spot in the Premier League is the highest spot that Crystal Palace has managed to seal in the history of the club and Pardew has made his mark in the club that was struggling so much a few months ago.
Alan Pardew admitted in saying that he was surprised in seeing how much the club has evolved and progressed in this season as the 53 year old manager said: “When I arrived here the club was in a difficult position, but there was no shortage of quality or character and my goodness we have proved that. Over the last 18 games our record has been phenomenal and none of the top teams’ record is better.
“It’s remarkable really to finish 10th, I’d never have dreamt that when I arrived. I wouldn’t have believed it if you had you told me at my first game in Dover this is where we would finish. My memories of that afternoon was the team bus being parked 300 yards away from the dressing rooms and we had to walk uphill to get there. I wasn’t used to that being manager of Newcastle! Celtic managed to win the Scottish Premier league title without kicking the ball after Dundee United managed a win over Aberdeen, who have been one of their main competitors.
The title helped relieve a lot of pressure off manager Ronny Deila, whose appointment was viewed with a lot of scepticism by critics and pundits ahead of the new season. This is largely due to the relative inexperience of the Norwegian not with just Scottish football but as a manager. The club’s chief executive, Peter Lawwell, has admitted that Celtic did take a gamble in replacing an experienced manager like Neil Lennon with Deila.
Yet, the gamble appears to have been paid off with this impressive performance in the domestic competition yet again. Apart from having won the league title, Celtic have secured a double for the season. They were in the race to win three major titles, but an extra time defeat against Inverness in the Scottish cup final has blown away those hopes. The next major target for Deila will be to get the club become more competitive in European competitions. Qualifying for the knockout stages of the Champions League will be considered as a major achievement and it will also help the club immensely in terms of finances. These funds could not have come at a much better time for the club, who are facing intense transfer rumours surrounding their star asset – Virgil van Dijk. The 23-year-old has become a transfer target for several Premier League clubs after scoring eight goals in eight Scottish league games. This is despite the fact that he is a defender. The Dutch youngsters is not expected to spend a lot of time on Celtic based on this run of form, but manager Ronny Deila reckons that the added money from UEFA may actually help the club keep the player.
